Born in Cape Breton (her dad’s hometown), her family moved to Bathurst, NB (her mom’s hometown) when she was five & she wandered west at 18 years old. Working a summer job in Calgary in 1988, the Olympic year, Karen found it to be a modern, vibrant, welcoming city — it was not the perceived ‘Cow town’. A graduate of Olds College (an agricultural college, north of Calgary), prior to moving on to real estate, she ran a volunteer program with seven employees & 5000+ volunteers. Also: mining camp cook, construction, golf course, etc. The diversity of her background has been beneficial as she takes an interest in the construction & maintenance of your home, her experiences have added to her depth of knowledge in her real estate career.
